Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act of 1996 (Senate Bill No. 1476)

This is a comprehensive bill which addresses the aspirations of these cultural communities for the recognition specifically of their right to special measures for the immediate, effective and continuing improvement of their economic and social conditions, including in the areas of employment, vocation training and retraining, housing sanitation, health and social security and their right to special protection and security in periods of armed conflict.
