The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) presents its Report on the Human Rights Situation of Asylum Seekers at Philippine Ports of Entry (First Semester 2025), highlighting the challenges faced by asylum seekers who have remained in prolonged stay at NAIA while awaiting the resolution of their applications. The report identifies protection gaps and recommends concrete legal, policy, and operational reforms to ensure a more humane, coordinated, and rights-based asylum system in line with the Philippines’ international human rights obligations.
