CHRP at the Adoption of Outcomes of the Philippines’ 3rd Cycle of the UPR

CHRP delivered a statement at the 36th session of the Human Rights Council, reminding the Philippines of their human rights obligations in relation to the accepted, noted and rejected recommendations.

The UPR Working Group adopted the outcomes of the review of the Philippines. While the State accepted 103 recommendations and noted 99 recommendations, the Commission strongly advises the Philippine Government to firmly adhere to its international human rights commitments by reconsidering the 55 recommendations the State could not fully support, strive for immediate resolution of civil and political rights violations and issues, and guarantee progressive implementation of recommendations concerning economic, social and cultural rights.
