Pahayag ni CHR spokesperson, Atty Jacqueline Ann de Guia, ukol sa di-umano’y pananakit at paghipo ng mga pulis sa isang babae sa Calamba, Laguna

Nakababahala na nauwi sa pananakit at panghihipo ng mga pulis mula sa Calamba City Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Laguna ang pagkuha ng isang babae ng video sa nangyayaring pag-aresto sa ama ng kaniyang kaibigan. Sa lahat ng pagkakataon, paalala mismo ng PNP Manual of Operations na siguraduhing lubos na kinakailangan at nararapat lang sa lebel ng banta ang paggamit ng pwersa. Anumang pagmamalabis ay maaring humantong sa paglabag sa karapatang pantao.

Ayon sa biktima, matapos siyang sitahin, pilit siyang dinala sa isang sasakyan, pinagsusuntok sa tiyan, sinampal, at pinagbatantaan ang buhay. Hinipuan rin siya sa pribadong parte ng isang pulis para siguraduhin ‘di-umano na siya ay isang babae matapos magpumiglas.

Sisiyasatin ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) sa Region IV-A ang reklamo ng babae. Titingnan rin ng CHR ang kabuuang pangyayari sa naturang insidente, partikular ang di-umano’y pagdadala sa tatay ng kaibigan ng babae sa isang bakanteng lote, imbis na sa presinto, na taliwas sa tamang proseso ng pag-aresto at maaaring lumabag sa karapatan ng inaresto.
