House Bills No. 158 and 750 Establishing the National Committee for the Prevention of Torture (NCPT)

The CHRP is optimistic that the enactment will be a milestone, in conjunction with other existing mechanisms and safeguards, in changing the culture of impunity in the country by punishing perpetrators of torture and other ill-treatment, and ultimately protecting the rights of individuals who are most vulnerable to abuses.
